The state is a hub of Central India’s cultural traditions that is evinced by the friendly and hardworking people of Chhattisgarh. Champaran a small town,the pilgrimage site for the Gujarati community is gaining importance, as it is the birthplace of the Saint Vallabhacharya. Lord Rama started his vanvas in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. He spends more than 10 years of their vanvas with his wife and brother in different places of Chhattisgarh. In the eastern parts of Chhattisgarh bordering Odisha, the Oriya culture is prominent.
The culturally rich state loves to celebrate a number of festivals and fairs. The principal festivals celebrated in the different districts include Bastar Dussera, Bastar Lokotsav, Madai Festival, Bhoramdeo Festival, Goncha Festival, Champaran Mela, Narayanpur Mela, Fagun Wadai, Koriya Mela and also includes Chhattisgarh fairs like Dantewada Fair, Ratanpur Fair, Girodhpuri Fair, Damakheda Fair.
They mostly find occupations in numerous mines and factories in the state.The tribal people are very talented and creative.They manifest their expertise talents in traditional handicrafts which are beautifully exhibited in the exhibitions. Chhattisgarh’s rich culture can be obtained at the handicrafts emporiums. The finest handicrafts and woollen products are beautifully exhibited at the cultural carnival.
